Dear Rev. Fr. Principal, Headmistress, Staff, Students, Parents/Guardians, Alumni and Well Wishers of Holy Cross School - Kumarghat,

As the school manager of Holy Cross High School, Kumarghat, it is my privilege to pen down this article, "Know your
place, Kumarghat," intending to educate our students, parents, and the entire community about the rich history, cultural
heritage, and significance of our beloved town.

Kumarghat, situated in the Northern part of Tripura, is a treasure trove of natural beauty, adorned with lush green forests,
rolling hills, and meandering rivers. The town's unique blend of tribal and non-tribal cultures has created a vibrant tapestry
      worth exploring and understanding.

As we delve into the history of Kumarghat, we find it has been a significant center of trade and commerce for a long time.
The town's strategic location made it an important hub for merchants and traders. However, Kumarghat is more than just
a historical town. It is a melting pot of diverse communities, each with its distinct customs, traditions, and way of life. The town is home to 19 tribes that have
contributed significantly to the region's rich cultural heritage. One of the most striking aspects of Kumarghat is its natural beauty. The town is surrounded by the
majestic Jampui Hills, which are home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. The hills are also dotted with numerous waterfalls.

As educators, we believe that it is essential for our students to know and appreciate the place they call home. By doing so, they will develop a sense of pride and
ownership, which will motivate them to contribute to the development and progress of Kumarghat.

At Holy Cross High School, we are committed to providing our students with a comprehensive education that goes beyond the confines of the classroom. We
believe that education should be holistic, encompassing not only academic excellence but also cultural, social, and environmental awareness.

To this end, we have introduced a range of initiatives aimed at promoting cultural and environmental awareness among our students. Our school through its
newsletters try to promote the rich cultural heritage of Kumarghat. We have also launched a series of environmental initiatives, including tree plantation drives,
cleanliness campaigns, a Peace club, and awareness programs on the importance of conservation.

As we look to the future, we envision Kumarghat as a hub of cultural and environmental excellence, where our students can thrive and grow into responsible
                                                                                                                                                                                              P.T.O
