On the occasion of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDDRR) on October 13, 2023, the Eco Club
students and teachers at Holy Cross School in Kumarghat actively participated in
various initiatives to promote environmental sustainability and disaster risk
reduction.
Activities:
• Tree Plantation:
Eco Club members engaged in a tree plantation drive both inside and
outside the school campus.
This activity aimed to enhance greeneries, contributing to disaster risk
reduction by preventing soil erosion.
• Poster Making Competition:
A Poster Making Competition was organized, involving the creative participation of
students. he posters focused on raising awareness about disaster risk reduction measures, emphasizing the
importance of individual and collective efforts.
• Pledge for Earth Protection:
Students and teachers collectively took a
pledge to protect the Earth and committed to
making sustained efforts to keep the planet
green and sustainable.
The pledge highlighted the role of each
individual in mitigating environmental risks
and promoting a culture of disaster resilience.
Outcomes:
• Increased awareness: The activities
