Dear Rev. Fr. Principal, Headmistress, Staff, Students, Parents/Guardians, Well Wishers of Holy Cross School, Kumarghat.

At the very outset, it is my honour and privilege to greet you with prayerful wishes!

The best and beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt by heart. Gratitude is one such prayer. As we approach the end of this academic year 2022 – 2023,
my heart is filled with gratitude as I look at the strides the school has taken and the milestones achieved thereof. My heart therefore is filled with pride and elation of a gardener whose seeds
have sprouted and whose beaming petals have been unveiled.

As our school tries to impart holistic education to those entrusted to our care, we instill in our students the cherished values for life and to form and build the future citizens of the country. One
such quality which we mainly instill in our students is ‘gratitude’ – gratitude towards school, gratitude towards teachers and staff, gratitude towards friends, gratitude towards parents and
gratitude towards our society. On numerous occasions, I have personally witnessed and experienced the gratefulness of our students and I am very glad that our students have inculcated this
vital quality as they shape their lives for a better future. I pray that our students may continue to grow in being grateful to teachers and to the school, which will indeed help them to have a
positive approach of being grateful to all who have helped them come up in life.

Blessed Basil Moreau the Founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross being a teacher himself said “A call to be a teacher is from God and a good teacher is preoccupied with the care and the
progress of students, with their schoolwork, and with the small and bothersome difficulties that inevitably arise in dealing with young people. Teachers will find it difficult to care seriously
for their own spiritual needs and their own interests”. Teachers sacrifice a lot for a student’s future. Therefore, it is the need of the hour to educate our children to know the importance of a
teacher in nation building by acknowledging his or her dedication, role and sacrifice to carve the life of his or her student for the latter's benefit and society’s benefit.

The school is highly indebted to Rev. Fr. Sahaya Lourdu Raj, C.S.C., our Principal, Sisters, the teaching staff, administrative staff and supportive staff, each of whom works very hard to
ensure that the abilities of the children in our care are nurtured and carefully developed. I fondly thank them for their dedication, loyalty and committed service which has transformed this
institution into an outstanding and significant temple of learning today. A big thank you for everything!

Dear parents, I wish to thank you for your trust and unwavering support throughout this academic year. We remain committed to the sound education of your children. You have indeed been
very supportive and instrumental to the success they've achieved. I also urge and exhort you dear parents to help your children at home to be grateful even for small things they have been
blessed with, for gratitude is associated with social wellbeing, emotional wellbeing, and psychological well being.

Finally, I implore God’s blessings upon everyone and pray that the Almighty God continues to guide the school management, students, parents, staff and all those associated with this
      institution.

By being grateful, let us look back with pride and move forward with enthusiasm.
