On 3rd November, 2022, Mr Prashant Chakraborty from Guwahati had come to Holy

Seminar Cross School, Kumarghat to train the teachers who are in the Fire – Safety Team how to

on use the fire extinguisher to ensure the quick actions during the time of emergency.

Fire Safety Awareness
The teachers who were the members of the fire and safety committee were all present
during the practical demonstration. Mr Chakraborty showed all the members the steps

of using the extinguishers without any errors.

The demonstrations included the switching on of the fire alarm in the function of the

smoke detectors and how to use the extinguisher attached near the main electrical
points. Also, how to open the nozzles of the cylinder sprayers were shown. The teachers

were also trained how to use the fire safety pipes attached outside the building, how to
unroll it and how to spray at minor burns. Last but not the least the use of the main hose

Ms. Lalnunkimi Darlong pipes that is used during the major fire accident was demonstrated, starting right from
the opening of the kit with a key or even using the emergency breakable glass doors how

to open the pipes and shift to the controls to which the fire brigade is attached during the
times of emergency. With the help of all the teachers of the fire and safety Committee, Mr Prashant demonstrated the

process on how to spray water through the main hose pipe. Also, to ensure proper supply of water and to cut off water

storage, the process of turning on the water pump was shown with the help of the school caretaker.

On 10th November 2022, Fire Safety Personnel from Kumarghat Fire Station under the leadership of LFM. Bennubusan
Debnath, came to our school to give a session on Disaster Management. The main spokesperson for the session was FM.

Ashim Saha. Everyone did ably present the session with due explanations and demonstrations like CO2, BA SET, ATP,
Rescue measures, and other fire disaster management ways. They did a wonderful job in making the students understand

as of how to act shrewdly in case of disasters like fire and earthquake. We also thank the team members: FM. Sujit Sinha,
FM. Vr. Len Tripura, FM. Kripasindhu Saha and Mr. Bijoy Sinha.

It was a very useful demonstration that gave the Staff and the Students knowledge about the Fire Safety measures and
process of using the extinguishers.
