Games and sports are an essential part of education. Sports help students to develop
physically, mentally, socially and academically. Therefore, we need to encourage the
students to participate in sports and to provide them with the resources and support

them to succeed. Regular participation in physical activities and exercises can help
students to stay active, healthy and to reduce the risk of obesity, heart diseases etc.
Regular exercises helps in developing blood circulation within the body, improves
flexibility, reduce heart problems, cancer and diabetes. Regular exercises also can
help to reduce stress, depression and anxiety levels and improves overall mood.
For children, when they playing as a team, students often given opportunities to lead
as team captains or other roles. These experiences can help students to develop
confidence to become a good leader in their life, they learn to work together as a team. It improves their social interaction and improves their
decision-making abilities. It enhances their leadership skills and enables them to achieve their goals in life. They learn to respect others, to
identify their strengths and weaknesses.
We are committed to provide the students with the best possible education. We have at least one practical game period for each class in a week.
Mr. Sandip Shil Upper classes (Cl. IX & X) have theory class on ‘Health and Physical Education’. We have a school team of Football, Volleyball, Kabaddi etc.,
for boys and girls to participate in various level of tournaments. Mass PT, School Band and Annual Sports Competition continues to encourage
and develop the student’s community.
We are proud that our Class II student, named Smily Pal, won 3rd position, Sub-junior Group (Age 5-7) in National Level Yoga Sports Championship, 2024 at Uttarakhand,
India. It was held on 29-30th June, 2024 and conducted by UYSF (Universal Yoga Sports Federation). Being a position holder, she is also going to participate in International
Level competition in Thailand in the near future. We, the Holy Cross School authority hearty welcome and congratulate on her successful achievement and praying for her
God's blessing for bright future. Thanks all.
