Every year Holy Cross School, Pabiacherra, Kumarghat
celebrates Rabindra Jayanti to pay homage to our great poet
RABINDRA JAYANTI
and writer Rabindra Nath Tagore. This year also on 10th May
CELEBRATION 2023, Tagore's 162nd birthday was celebrated in the school
auditorium.

The Chief Guest of the day was Sri. Rabindra Sinha, a
renowned retired govt. teacher. All the students from class-
VII to class- X were present for the function. The programme

started at 12:10 pm and lasted for an hour.

It began with a group song sung by the senior students
followed by quiz competition which was open to all from the

audience. In honor of the birth anniversary of Tagore, group
song and group dance competition were organized by the
Ms. Herisha Lalfamkimi Lushai
cultural committee. All the four houses took part in the
competition.

Students from classes IV to VI competed for the group dance

and students from classes VII to IX competed for the group
song according to Houses. It was indeed a wonderful
experience for me to witness the various talents of the
students.

Our Chief Guest Sri. Rabindra Sinha delivered a wonderful
speech in which he mentioned about the various works of
Tagore. Our Principal then presented the chief guest a bouquet
of appreciation and thanked him for his presence to join us in
the celebration of Tagore’s Birth anniversary. He also thanked
all the staff and students for their cooperation which made the

event a successful one. Last but not the least the programme
came to an end by singing the National Anthem.
